Veer's Telugu version sees biggest release
Posted On Friday, January 22, 2010 at at 5:56 AM by PradeepSalman Khan's Veer turns out to be the biggest Bollywood release, in Telugu version. The period drama, set in British India and the 19th century, is a love story, written by Salman himself. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film is produced by Vijay Gilani.
Veer's Telugu version sees a release with 75 prints across the state. Apoorva veerayodhuni prema katha, is the tag line that Veer is coming up with.
Releasing world-wide today, the film is by far the grandest release in Andhra Pradesh. There were films like Kahno Na Pyaar Hain, Devdas and Gadar, which were dubbed in Telugu, but none of them saw this big a release.
Anil Sharma, whose last hit was Gadar in 2001, has made a number of flops since, including two of them with Sunny Deol. Veer is a mega-budget film, on which Salman and Anil have pinned hopes on.
The promos of the film have definitely raised expectations on it, with many even making a comparison with Magadheera.
