Nokia Siemens Acquires Motorola’s Network Business for $1.2 Billion

Nokia Siemens Networks has agreed to acquire the majority of Motorola’s wireless network unit for $1.2 billion in cash, the company announced this morning.

Nokia Siemens Networks expects that this acquisition will strengthen its ties with a number of telecom operators, as well as make it the third largest wireless infrastructure vendor in the U.S., the biggest foreign wireless vendor in Japan and strengthen its current number two position in the global infrastructure segment.

Meet One Shot Nandu -- he is wild and born to fight, and Pinky Palkar -- she is blind and born to fly.

Yash Raj films revealed the first look of Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone starrer Lafangey Parindey, directed by Pradeep Sarkar and produced by Aditya Chopra ].

The story is set in the gritty streets of Mumbai. It is believed that the film is about the bike gangs of Mumbai.

Both the actors have extremely challenging roles to play in this love story.

Neil, who has performed some daring stunts in the film, plays a character with an interesting name -- One Shot Nandu.

Deepika too will be seen in an action avatar -- Pinky Palkar, where she will ride bikes and do daredevil stunts. The actress reportedly refused to use a body double.

Lafangey Parindey will hit theatres worldwide on August 20.

Indian Rupee becomes one of the select few currencies in the world to have it's own unique identity as it gets a new symbol which is a mix of the Devanagiri 'Ra' and Roman 'R'. With the adoption of the new symbol, the Indian Rupee joins the US Dollar, the British Pound Sterling, the Euro and the Japanese Yen as only the fifth currency in the world to have a distinct identity. The new symbol will differentiate the Indian Rupee from the rupee of Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Rupiah of Indonesia.

The symbol, designed by D Udaya Kumar, a graduate from IIT Bombay was selected from 3,000 designs entered for the competition announced by the RBI to find a symbol for the Rupee. Udaya Kumar will be awarded Rs. 2.5 lakh by the Finance Ministry.

The 'Indian Rupee' symbol is to be adopted within six months in India and all over the world in about 24 months. The new symbol will not be embossed on coins or printed on currency notes.

The Indian Rupee symbol will find it's way into the 'Unicode Standard' so that computer users all over the world can use it.
